Status update

Hello everybody,

I decided to a past a small status update to hopefully stimulate some further posts from other Calitko developers.

I would like to remind you that the lack of activity in Source Talk doesn’t mean lack of work being done in Caliko altogether. You can check http://trac.calitko.org/timeline to see current development progress. I just created a few new tickets and more are to be created, so if someone is interested in contributing please have a look and pick something up :-).

I’m currently working on the new Connection class and I’m actually quite happy with my progress. Currently I have Connection, Transport and Buffer in my concept. Transport is an abstraction for the transport protocol (i.e. TCP, UDP or custom transports) and Buffer has two purposes: implement a buffering scheme and eliminate the difference between stream and datagram transports, so that the user of Connection doesn’t care what kind of transport is used. I’ve been busy writing some tests and a good documentation of this new API.

Well, that was it in short.

Regards,

Peter
