Hello everybody,

It’s a bit delayed, but anyway here is a short summary of the call we had on Saturday.

Initially the call joined Bo, Naresh, Tufan, Atul and me. Atul and Tufan had technical difficulties with their microphones. Atul and Naresh had to drop a bit earlier. We had a short introduction of ourselves, I talked about Calitko for five to ten minutes then we discussed a little bit.

After the conference call I talked again to Naresh, who gave me some really great feedback and ideas how to better organize our future calls so that all participants have better experience. Naresh suggested that we have both Introduction Calls and Conference Calls. What we have done so far are actually Introduction Calls because of their chatty nature. The main point of an Introduction Call is to learn more about Calitko and to get to know other Calitko people. Introduction Calls would be a great way for new people to become part of our developer community. Conference Calls on the other side would be more to the point and concentrate on the current development status (achievements, problems) and the planning of further development (task allocation, group forming).

I’m personally very happy about the call we had, especially because it initiated the really great work we did with Naresh over the weekend (the result of which are the materials which will be distributed prior to the next Introduction Call). I utterly hope that future calls would similarly spark some interesting discussions and collaborations between the participants afterwards!

I experimented with recording the call but unfortunately the quality of the recording was unsatisfactory. The reasons are the technical problems we had one of the microphones (which produced lots of noise) and the software I used (which turned out to be a demo version which records up to 5 minutes at once). Next time I’ll try again and would really like to make a PodCast out of our Introduction and Conference Calls. I’ll get in touch with Roopesh in this regard!
