I had quite similar problems doing a branch. It took ages to download and do the necessary stuff. In fact I thought it was hung; maybe you should wait longer…

It may take up to some minutes... I don't know how long you've waited! What may speed things up is creating a repository in your projects root: $ cd ~/projects $ bzr (more...)
